How a Design Agency Art Director Finds Inspiration

One of the most important pieces to running a top-quality design agency is having the best possible talent designing for you. You can spend hours brainstorming with the best and brightest, but without eye-catching graphic design your campaign will just not have the same impact. Design agency work today is vastly different from the days of storyboards and hand-drawn print ads; today’s designers must be well-versed in everything from Photoshop to InDesign to After Effects, be able to draw, design calligraphy, animate and utilize photography to make the greatest impact. Today we continue our series highlighting our creative team with a profile of our Art Director Jen Bianchi.

How long have you been working for Commit?

Seven months

What got you interested in graphic design?

My senior year of high school I took a Commercial Design art class and loved it. My teacher encouraged me to look into colleges that had a graphic design program. As soon as I started the design program at ASU, I knew it was the perfect fit and career choice for me.

What’s your favorite thing to design?

I have a passion for weddings so my favorite things to design are wedding invitation suites. Designing for something you love (and for the sake of love!) is the is the ultimate goal and best of both worlds.

What’s the hardest thing to design?

Logos are always the biggest challenge, but in a fun way. They are one of the best ways for designers to flex their creative muscles. I always strive to make each logo more innovative and creative than the last.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

There is a huge and amazing design community online. I follow lots of design sites and check them daily for inspiration, like dribbble.com and behance.net.

The best thing about having so many talented artists and designers is that each one brings their own unique perspective and style to each project. With three incredibly talented designers, Commit Agency has the perfect arsenal of talent from which to draw from in order to make your project great; just another reason why Commit is a design agency you need to watch.
